Sephora: 10 Cruelty-Free Products To Add To Your Cart

Global giant Sephora will tomorrow open its first store in Melbourne after having a successful entry into the Australian market with their Pitt St Mall in Sydney shop last December. The worlds largest beauty retailers first Melbourne store will be opening in the heart of the CBD in the Melbourne Central complex and is set to create euphoria among shoppers lusting over the beauty giants house of brands.

There is a wide selection of cruelty-free brands to shop at Sephora and some even have the accredited ‘leaping bunny’ symbol. If you are a vegan, brands like Edible Beauty and Kat Von D should be on your radar as well as many other staples like CoverFx and Anastasia Beverly Hills that include a large range of vegan products.

Much to my delight, Sephora also now have an online shop allowing time-poor people to fill up the cart without leaving the comforts of their own home. The convenience and range of products that Sephora offers will be a welcome addition to the Australian market.

I’ve had a play and done my research and these are some of the brands and products you should be looking out for.

Happy shopping!

Calming Primer

Cover FX is a brand I only discovered recently and it is fast becoming one of my favourites. The entire CoverFX range is cruelty-free and vegan except for two products – MintTint FX and MintGlaze FX. This calming primer feels like silk and glides onto your skin providing a perfect base for your foundation.

Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara

The Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 mascara is a lengthening, thickening, volumising and conditioning mascara that should be in everyone’s makeup bags. This mascara is the bees knees (without the beeswax). You can read more about my favourite mascara products here.

NB: The parent company of Tarte is not cruelty-free.

Kat Von D
Tattoo Liner

Highly pigmented and super long-lasting, this blackest black eyeliner is great for ladies (or men) who love a winged look or an eyeliner that stays put all day.

The Kat Von D range also contains a lot of other vegan products and the whole line is animal-testing free.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Dipbrow Pomade

If brows are your thing, look now further than the Anastasia Beverly Hills range. This brand has a cult following around the world and is known for their amazing eyebrow products. The Dipbrow Pomade is a waterproof and smudge proof formula that stays put all day, even in the sweaty Australian heat.

Dr. Hauschka
Moor Lavender Body Oil

A household name in the skincare world, Dr Hauschka products have been around for over 80 years. This body oil feels luxurious when applied to your skin after a shower. All of the products in the Dr Hauschka range are natural and organic and a massive chunk of them are vegan. Amazing brand.
Vegan Face Set

Zoeva offer a range of vegan and non-vegan brushes in various different packs. The Vegan Face Set offers six different brushes specifically designed for the skin, but Zoeva also offers other sets which offer brushes for the eyes and lips.

The Konjac Sponge Company
Product most suited to your skin type

I’ve been using a konjac sponge on my skin for a few years now and I absolutely love the range of products offered by the Konjac Sponge Company. Make sure you choose the sponge that is most suited to your skin type. You can read more about their amazing products here.

Intelligent Nutrients
Spray-On Detangler

I only discovered this brand recently and er-ma-gawd it is amazing. Seriously amazing. Their stance on animal testing, ingredients and the environment is admirable and I love supporting companies that have such fantastic philosophies whilst at the same time producing incredible products. If you have a long, knotty mane like me, get this product in your bathroom cabinet. Pronto.
Quattro Eyeshadow

Most of the Antonym products are vegan except for their lipsticks. This eyeshadow palette, free from all nasties and containing only natural ingredients, contains four shades that can carry you from day to night. Beautiful creamy formulas that are easy to apply and long lasting.

Edible Beauty
& Golden Rush Eye Balm

Developed by a Naturopath, Edible Beauty is an Australian brand known for creating products that are….edible. Using the highest grade botanical ingredients, Edible Beauty is an entirely cruelty-free and vegan range of products. This eye balm is one of my favourite picks for its creamy and luxurious texture.
