The Best Cruelty-Free Skincare

Skincare. We all use it. For some, bathroom cabinets are absolutely littered with different brands and products (me). For others, it’s more of a case of having only one or two staple items (not me). However, I am sure we can all agree that for most women looking after your skin is an important everyday ritual.

In 2015, the skincare industry will be worth an estimated US$115 BILLION. That is not a typo. $115 BILLION. The market is completely flooded with hundreds of thousands of different brands and products which can make choosing what to use and what is best for your skin difficult. I am personally a bit of a skincare tart and have tried hundreds of different products from many different brands only to fall in love with them or be bitterly disappointed by them.

With this in mind, when i’m choosing skincare products a few things are particularly important to me:

1. The brand must be 100% cruelty-free.

2. The product must be 100% vegan.

3. And they must avoid nasty ingredients like parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and petrolatum.

There are so many brands and products on the market that fit the bill above and i’ve probably had a fair crack at trying most of them, so you could say i’ve done the hard yards for you. However, as with everything, there is always going to be a few standouts and you will find these below.

Here are my top cruelty-free skincare brands that I turn to on the regular.

Grown Alchemist

I’m obsessed with this brand. Grown Alchemist are a completely organic company that are 100% cruelty-free and vegan. With a team of cosmetic chemists based in Paris, London and throughout Australia, Grown Alchemist ensures you get a combination of the best science and the best ingredients when you use their products. You will find collagen and elastin boosting actives, hyaluronic acid, powerful antioxidants, advanced peptides and cell-communicating actives throughout the range that work together to transform the texture and appearance of your skin.

I am also a big fan of the Grown Alchemist packaging. It’s super sleek and looks great on any bathroom shelf. All of their packaging is 100% recycable and free from nasties that can leak into the actual products, therefore making them good for your skin and great for the environment. Win win.

Arbonne was developed in Switzerland in 1975 by a Norwegian man by the name of Petter Morck. With his team of herbalists, biologists and biochemists, Morck has created a superior skincare, makeup and nutrition range that are all 100% cruelty-free and vegan and free from all the nasties such as parabens, phthalates, formaldehyde, benzene, petrolatum and mineral oils.

Arbonne gets so many scathing (paid) reviews, but I have been using these products for almost seven years and I still love them as much, if not more, than I did when I started using them. They have an amazing range with something to suit all skin types and they are at very reasonable price points. If this wasn’t the case, they wouldn’t be getting a mention. A truly fantastic brand.

    Thanks for this article,
Are you sure that Grown Alchemist is a vegan a cruelty free brand?
I’d love to start using them because I never tried them. But on their website they don’t even mention that they are vegan or cruelty free.
